Sites Involved in the Study

Our Sites

This map shows the hospitals that are part of the OBS UK study. We wanted to make sure that our sites and the women or birthing people in the study represented the diverse population of the United Kingdom. We wanted to make sure we involve people from a wide range of backgrounds. You can see in the graphs on the right, that the people that will be involved in the study are similar to the UK population - the larger bar graphs show the ethnic breakdown and socioeconomic background of women in the study, the smaller bar graphs show the UK population for comparison.

How to use this map

Each of the red dots on the map represent one of our hospitals working on the OBS UK study. Clicking on the red dot will show more information about the site - number of births per year, ethnic breakdown of the population using that unit, and the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) of the population for that unit. Decile (or section) 1 represents most deprived individuals, and decile (or section) 10 the least deprived..
